I got on it to keep up with my grandkids and what they are doing. For example, I learned on Facebook that one of my grandkids is going to Missouri to college in three weeks. I wasn't aware that she was going until I read it on Facebook. This is one of my kids whose mother is my ex-daughter-in-law so we don't communicate very much.

I don't really see the allure of Facebook. Mostlly it seems to me to be "What are you doing?" - "Nothing" - "Me too" type of conversation. I rarely post on my own page and don't post much on others' either. But I do read other people's posts.

Nothing I have posted would be of interest to anyone with nefarious purposes but I just don't like the IDEA of someone snooping around.

Post The Amnesty Memo
Robert VerBruggen
National Review On-line
July 29, 2010

These people have NO shame......none. They know giving amnesty to illegals would be unpopular legally so in order to let Congress off the hook from having to take a stand, they plan on implementing amnesty by regulation....a step at a time.....hoping no one will notice.

Quote:
According to an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo going the rounds of Capitol Hill and obtained by National Review, the agency is considering ways in which it could enact “meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action” — that is, without the consent of the American people through a vote in Congress.

“This memorandum offers administrative relief options to . . . reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization,” it reads.

I don't know if you remember or not but last year was a killer for us here in Texas with unbelievable heat and no rain. I just heard over the news that we have yet to have a 100 degree day this year, which isn't that unusual since we usually get them in August and Monday is predicted to be our first 100 day, BUT the weatherman said that on this same date last year we had already had 50 days of 100(+) days when our average number of 100+ days in a summer is 11. All I remember from last year was that it was MISERABLE!

At least the humidity we have had for the past several weeks appears to be gone.

I just heard that earlier this month that lady the president trotted out to push the extension of the unemployment benefits - the one who "lost her job" at the fitness center and had been unable to find a job in a year - had been FIRED from her job at the center and has a criminal record as long as your arm, including grand larceny, theft and drugs.

No WONDER no one wants to hire her! BUT you and I as taxpayers are supporting her.

Another point to this story is how on earth did a woman with this record get past security checks to stand next to the president of the United States? Gibbs said "if they had known about her record, they would not have allowed her to be there". Ten to one NO ONE told the SS that the woman would be there and she was passed through security at the order of the president himself.

This administration is a royal screw-up any way you look at it!

Nah! The rich I KNOW doesn't have "give up" in his vocabulary!

Have you sent a "thank you for the interview" note? If not, might be a good time to remind him you are still waiting to hear from him!

Keep on keepin' on!

I called him this morning. They are still in their decision making process. It seems that a few key players are out of town right now. He stated that once they get back in town that I should be hearing one way or the other shortly after. His message (I was at the store when he called) didn't indicate how long they were out of the office.

So, at least I haven't been ruled out yet. Makes me feel a bit better.

I'll tell you one thing though... If I live to be 100 and work until I'm 99, I'll never again take have a job for granted.

Now that Arizona is no longer permitted to defend its borders, when someone is raped and murdered, can their family sue the federal government and

receive several million dollars?

If not - why not?

Glad you checked, Rich. Good to know you're still in the running. :heyman:

Mav - who's surprised about a phony being trotted out by the liberals to make a point which is completely invalid? It's "who they are". :steamed:

Just time for a quickie, it's almost time for Glenn Beck. :heyman:

Rich ~ hang in there, I'm sure it's really nerve wracking waiting for news, but you've got a lot of people pulling for you.

Mav ~ I can't seem to see the addictive attraction of Facebook either.

HI!

We've been on the run here since early this morning.

I see the Portland Police have finished their investigation into Algore's "masseuse-capade". Nothing to see here....move along. No matter that OTHER Algore masseuse's have alleged the same thing. No second chatka release here! Doesn't all this just get sickening as hell? Charlie Rangel? We'll all just "wait and see". HA! But if a republican taps his foot in a bathroom, or says macaca out loud...off with their heads!

rich...Glad you followed up. It's still hard not having a firm answer, I'm sure...but at least there is reason for optimism and you won't have to go through the weekend on a mental downer.

Ahhh, I'm hearing that Congressman Weiner  went on "TILT" on the floor of the House screaming and yelling. So professional, donchaknow. Then proceeded to go into a verbal shakedown at Congressman Peter King. They are all on the verge of losing it....quite literally! :db:

Oh - and don't forget Maxine Waters...she's now in trouble.

CULTURE OF CORRUPTION!!!!! :steamed:

In watching Fox last night, there is a guy running for Congress in Tennessee who has filed a class action lawsuit against Obamacare and went to the White House to serve papers..... he's still hoping to get a lot of citizens to come on board the lawsuit with him.....so I went to his site and signed up -- sending him $10...though it looks like you could send as little as $1 if you choose -- he's really wanting more NAMES. the site is www.van4congress.org. If you go there you can click on "Obamacare class action" and see how to proceed.

Oh - I almost forgot...today's the big WEDDING DAY for Chelsea!!!!

She's marrying (gasp) an "investment banker".....eeeeewwwweeeeee -- isn't that kind of one of the "evil rich"? An enemy?
I forget now what I read about the groom's father...but it wasn't good......

OH well -- I don't really care how much of our dough they spent on the wedding, frankly. At this point, what's another million or two?

The new Father In Law is a convicted FELON who spent many a year in FEDERAL prison. He was a US CONGRESSMAN who plead guilty to 31!! counts of FRAUD in 2001.

Speaking of losers  , I just read that Bristol's engagement again to Levi  may well be on the OUTS. Again. Seems Levi's "manhood" got another ex-girlfriend pregnant.

Maxine Waters. Another black victim. Wait for the RACIST accusation again. Two prominent SLIME, both black, getting called for consequences for their actions, at the same time.

You just can't make any of this stuff up. It wouldn't be believable.

Check out THESE numbers for the "holy one":

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

Real Clear Politics combines all the various polls and gets an average. Usually it is higher than polls like Rasmussen because they also include in their average all the Democratically slanted polls which can be as much as 10 points ahead of Rasmussen or even Gallop. However, as you will see, the average today is -4.6 which is the lowest average he has had.

Rasmussen today has him at -20 in the STRONGLY approve/disapprove poll and -12 in the approve/disapprove poll. The thing that is encouraging about Rasmussen is that other than an occasional blip (like 7/12 when his approval/disapproval was only -1) these numbers have stayed fairly consistently negative. And these are registered voters only.

I know.....I know.....this can change on a dime but it still makes my day start off with a smile when I see them.

Speaking of Chelsea Clinton and her wedding, I got the following in an e-mail today:

Quote:
With Chelsea's wedding coming up July 31st...

Hillary wanted to play the perfect Mom

She asked Chelsea... "have you had sex with Marc?"

Chelsea said.... "Not according to Dad"

America is sllllooowwwlllyyyyyyy fiiinnnaaalllllllyyyyy waking up.

Wipe that sleep from your eyes, liberals. SEE what "THE ONE" is doing to destroy the country you love. :steamed:

Looks like the Bristol Palin engagement cancellation is perhaps not because of someone else being pregnant after all. THAT -- from the Huffington Post!
